What is the Cruden Bay 4 Day Open?
The 4 Day Open consists of two days of strokeplay qualifying over Cruden Bay Golf Club's Championship Course. The Top 16 in both scratch and handicap categories then progress to the knockout rounds. Those that fail to qualify can enjoy two further days of stableford competition.
When is the Cruden Bay 4 Day Open?
Traditionally played on the same week as The Open, men professional golf's oldest Major Championship in the middle of July. This year's 2023 4 Day Open will be played from Tuesday 18th July – Friday 21st July (08.00-15.00).
How much does it cost to play the Cruden Bay 4 Day Open?
The cost to play the 2023 Cruden Bay Challenge Cup Men’s 4 Day Open is just £140. That's four rounds on the Cruden Bay Championship Course, in the middle of summer! The same four rounds would normally cost a total of £660 making it one of the best value links golf experiences in Scotland.
How do I enter the Cruden Bay 4 Day Open?
Players can enter the tournament when Cruden Bay Golf Club open their visitor competition diary which has traditionally been January. At the time of writing (May) the waiting list is lengthy.
